Scenario: This dialogue is an interview between a mother, and a school Principal, Ms. Karen Black. The mother is seeking information on how to process her daughter’s enrolment at the school.
Principal: Good afternoon. I'm Karen Black the principal. Thank you for your interest in enrolling your daughter at our school.
Mother: සුභ සන්ධ්‍යාවක් බ්ලැක් මහත්මිය. මේ සම්මුඛ සාකච්ඡාව සලසන දුන්නට බොහොම ස්තූතියි. අපි ඔස්ට්‍රේලියාවට ආවෙ මාස කීපයකට ඉස්සර. මට ඕනේ කරන්නේ මගේ දුව පුළුවන් තරම් ඉක්මනට ඉස්කෝලේ යාම පටන් ගන්නයි
Principal: We can help you with the enrollment. Firstly does your child had any health or medical conditions such as allergies that we need to be aware of.
Principal: නැහැ, මගේ දුව සෞඛ්‍ය සම්පන්නයි. ඇගේ වයසට දෙන්න ඕන සේරම එන්නත් අයට දීලයි තියෙන්නේ. ඇය ඉතාමත් බුද්දිමත්, දැනටත් තරමක් දුරට ඉංග්‍රීසි තේරෙනවා.
Principal: That is great. She will need to do it proficiency test in English to assess whether she may need language support.
Principal: ඇයට තවමත් හොඳට ලියන්න බැහැ. විභාගය කොයි වගේ එකක් වෙයිද ? ඉංග්‍රීසි වලින් හොදට කරේ නැත්නම් ඇයව බාරගන්න එකක් නැද්ද? ඇය තවම හරිම ලාබලයි.
Principal: Don't worry. The test is suitable for her age. It will assess her understanding of English and basic literacy skills, according to the year she will be enrolled in.
Principal: පාසලට ඇතුළත් කිරීමට අවශ්‍ය ලියකියවිලි මොනවද කියලා මම දැනගන්න කැමතියි.මම කැමති නෑ එයාට තවත් පන්ති අතපසුවෙන එකට. මට බයයි එයාගෙ පන්තියේ අනෙක් අයට වඩා එයාට පසුබෑමක් ඇතිවෙයි කියල.
Principal: We need proof of residential address such as utility bills as well as the child's birth certificate and immunization records. We will also need parents details, visa status and passport copies.
Principal: හොදයි, මම ලියකියවිලි සූදානම් කරගෙන ඒවා මම මේ සතියේ පසු දවසක ගේන්නම්. මේ වාරයේම ඇයට පන්ති පටන් ගැනීමට හැකි වීම ගැන මට ඉතාම සතුටුයි.
